Who we are

Fintrest, Inc. ("Fintrest," "we," "us," "our") operates the Fintrest websites at fintrest.ai and app.fintrest.ai and the Fintrest mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use the Service.

Fintrest is a stock-signals publisher and personal-budgeting tool. We do not provide individualized investment advice and we do not trade on your behalf.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account information — email address, phone number, password (stored hashed), region, locale, name (if provided).
• Authentication metadata — sign-in timestamps, device identifiers, IP address.
• Subscription and payment information — if you subscribe, our payment processor handles your card details; we receive only the subscription status and a tokenized reference.
• Linked financial accounts — if you connect a bank or credit account via Plaid, we receive account balances, transactions, and account ownership details from Plaid. We never receive your bank credentials.
• Watchlists, notes, and preferences — tickers you follow, content you mark, settings you choose.

Information we collect automatically

• Usage data — pages viewed, features used, time spent, error reports.
• Device and connection data — operating system, browser, app version, approximate location derived from IP address.
• Cookies and similar technologies — session cookies for sign-in; we do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Information from third parties

To produce stock-signal research, we receive market data from licensed financial-data vendors (see the "Service providers" section below). This data is about publicly traded companies, not about you. We also receive Plaid-mediated account data only when you authorize a bank connection.

How we use information

• To operate the Service — authenticate you, sync your dashboard, generate signals, render your budget.
• To improve the Service — measure feature usage, debug errors, evaluate signal accuracy.
• To communicate with you — send transactional emails (sign-in verification, billing receipts), service updates, and (with your opt-in) newsletter content.
• To enforce our Terms — detect fraud or abuse, comply with legal obligations.

Information we share

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Service, and only the minimum needed for their function.

Service providers

• Plaid Inc. — bank-account linking (US). Governed by Plaid's End-User Privacy Policy.
• Polygon.io, Alpha Vantage, Finnhub, FRED (Federal Reserve), Quiver Quantitative — market data and macro-economic data providers. They receive ticker lookups only; they do not receive your personal information.
• Anthropic PBC — generates per-ticker research narratives. They receive ticker context only; we do not send your personal information to Anthropic.
• Resend, Inc. — transactional email delivery (sign-in verification, receipts).
• Fly.io (Anchorage Holdings) — application hosting and database hosting.

Legal disclosures

We may disclose information when we believe in good faith it is required by law, to enforce our Terms, to detect or address fraud or security issues, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fintrest, our users, or others.

Business transfers

If Fintrest is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you and let you opt out where required by law.

Your rights and choices

• Access — request a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Correct — update inaccurate information via your account settings or by contacting us.
• Delete — request deletion of your account and associated data. Some records (e.g., billing) may be retained for legal compliance.
• Disconnect — unlink any connected bank account at any time from the Settings page.
• Opt out of marketing email — every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.

Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we delete personal information within 60 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records, anti-fraud logs).

Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest, hashed password storage, scoped API tokens, and access controls that limit who at Fintrest can see your information. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will notify you within the time required by applicable law.

Children's privacy

Fintrest is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact privacy@fintrest.ai and we will delete it.

International transfers

Fintrest is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection rules than your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date.
